Have you ever wanted to learn how to fight with a sword and shield? Now is your Chance! We are Offering a 3 week intensive class, meeting twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm-8:30pm) on medieval swordsmanship! We will be working through the Walpurgis Fechtbuch (MS I.33)- one of, if not the oldest complete fencing manuals in existence ( Dating from the 14th century). This class will end in a Level One certification test from California Sabre- showing that you have a firm understanding of sword and buckler as it was practiced in the 14th century. This class will contain both lecture and active physical training- come ready to move around and swing some swords! There is no equipment needed, everything will be provided. This class is for adult students only (age 15 and up). This class will be taught by Christopher Hein, with over 25 years martial arts experience and a member of the teaching staff at Combat Con,( one of the largest HEMA -Historical European Martial Arts conventions in the world) for the last 7 years. Christopher will take you through all of the fundamentals, and share his insights into historical fencing. If you've ever wanted to try sword fighting- this is your chance! Aikido of Fresno has been teaching Aikido to the greater Fresno area for over 20 years. Current head instructor, Christopher Hein has over 15 years Aikido experience, 10 years teaching Aikido and has competed in Brazilian JiuJutsu, Submissions Wresling, MMA, Full Contact Stick fighting, and Historical Fencing.
