Black History dinner celebration honoring Mayor Tyrone Gardner and Bob Kendrick.
Join us Sunday, February 20th to help celebrate Black History Month by recognizing the achievements of Kansas City, KS Mayor Tyrone Gardner, and Negro Baseball League Museum President Bob Kendrick. The Men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Beta Omega Chapter, will honor these men for their service and commitment to our community. This is one of our annual events to support our community youth initiatives and college scholarships.
The event will be held at the Bistreaux Restaurant and Daquiri Shop at 8725 Metcalf Overland Park KS and will be hosted at two separate times to help implement Covid health and safety protocols. Please choose one time (like the Improv Comedy Club setup). The 3p dinner will honor Mayor Tyrone Washington and the 7p dinner will honor Mr. Bob Kendrick. We advise an early 30 min arrival prior to the start of the event.
Be prepared to enjoy the rich and flavorful delicacy prepared with a New Orleans influence and enthusiasm. The chef specifically prepared a celebration menu mindfully budgeted at $30-40 including a drink and appetizer.
We are sure you will love live music and soulful sounds. Well, Kansas City’s own Eric Ashby and Mae Cofield, will be singing memorable songs from the past and current civil rights movement to excite your spirit of activism, while accompanied by their live band.
RSVP TODAY! Get there early for seating is first come first serve. Please arrive with your entire party, as we will not be able to seat you as a group if you arrive separately! Thank you for your support!
