Free stand up comedy at The Orlando Improv featuring the hosts of The Something Planet Podcast Something Planet is a comedy talk show based out of Tampa Bay since 2008. It is hosted by John J Murray and a rotating cast of stand up comedians and musicians. After over 500 episode and 1 million downloads Something Planet is excited to bring a stand up showcase to Orlando Improv. John J Murray is a comedian from Clearwater, FL. His laid-back attitude disarms audiences and prepares them for the strange inner workings of his mind. John gives his perspective on everything from marriage to reality TV and also shares weird stories from his past. Offstage he is a marijuana advocate (stoner), US Marine Veteran and writer who spends his free time reading comic books and watching live music. John J has appeared on Comedy Time TV, The Afrotainment Network and 102.5 The Bone. He is a Creative Loafing Best of the Bay winner and his 1 hour special premires in spring 2022 on Prime Video John J has preformed in The Tampa Bay Comedy Festival, The Memphis Comedy Festival and Gilda's Laugh Fest in Grand Rapids, MI. Hugh Carey — he’s a part time comic and full time sovereign of sass. From being a missing milk carton baby, to selling crystals to housewives, to podcast co-host, Hugh is an up and comer in the Florida comedy scene, bringing his playful and twisted sense of humor to the stage. Hugh was the first winner of the Tampa Bay Roast League (and currently undefeated), he was a recent participant in the Comedy Store Roast Battle in Los Angeles, and a recent participant in the Side Splitters New Faces Comedy Competition. You catch him all around Florida doing comedy or co-hosting on the Mysteriousnesses Podcast. Jerod Walker is a standup comedian and co-host of the Something Planet podcast. He’s appeared doing standup in clubs, on the internet and recently performed standup in a commercial for a karaoke bar. As a comic he is known for his smart writing, quick wit and nerdy sensibilities. OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES: This show will take place in the bar of the Orlando Improv known as The Fat Fish Blues Stage. Attendance is free. Seating is assigned based on first come, first sat basis. The beginning of this show will be about ten minutes after the start of the main show. Exact start time is subject to change and based off of the main show. The end of this show is also determined by the end of the show in the main room. Both shows must end at the same time and this is out of the control of the comedians performing of the producer of the show. All acts and show times are subject to change.
