TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police arrested two people Thursday and charged both with fentanyl-related crimes.
Investigators witnessed "what appeared to be a drug transaction" between two cars Thursday and made a traffic stop, the police said. During the traffic stop police saw a "baggy containing a brown powdery substance, believed to be fentanyl," according to the police narrative.
A second traffic stop was made, with the assistance of Lowell Police, and police arrested Enrique Corona, 33 of Lawrence, and Lauren Kierce, 40 of Westborough.
Corona was charged with fentanyl distribution. Kierce was charged with possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute and had an active arrest warrant.
Both were due to be arraigned in Lowell District Court Friday.
All people are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
