SALEM, MA —Salem Public Schools will be open on Monday. The city announced the lifting of its snow emergency parking ban Sunday afternoon at 3 and said a school announcement would be forthcoming. "The Salem Public Schools will be open tomorrow," Salem Public Schools said late Sunday afternoon. "Thanks to the hard work of our maintenance and grounds crew, our schools are ready to go. "Please use caution when walking to bus stops or schools, there could be some slick sidewalks." "We realize some streets are accessible to vehicular traffic but may not be able to accommodate on-street parking," the city said on Sunday. "The police department is compiling a list of streets that may need parking restrictions or altered traffic patterns." If you cannot safely park on a street and you do not have off-street parking, a list of alternative off-street parking sites has been posted here. "Please be patient as snow clearing will be a multi-day effort," Mayor Kim Driscoll said on Saturday.
