SALEM, MA — Salem crews were responding to a water main break on Canal Street Monday morning. The break occurred at about 9 a.m. near 213 Canal Street. The water was shut down on Canal Street from Forest Avenue to the intersection of Broadway Street. Residents in the surrounding areas were advised to expect the possibility of brown or discolored water.
