These reviews do not happen frequently, so selected resources will be in classrooms for years and are a significant financial investment.  FCPS is conducting a basal resource review in elementary language arts. Basal resources are the books and materials the division purchases to create a common foundation for instruction across all schools while allowing teachers to make necessary adjustments to support every student's unique learning needs. Basal resources support the division's commitment to expanding learning opportunities for every child through literacy.  Stakeholder feedback collected during the review process is shared with the Basal Resource Adoption Committee and the School Board. Your voice is a direct and important part of the process. Resources for elementary language arts are being reviewed through February 28. Interested individuals can review and provide feedback on digital resources online. Physical texts can be reviewed at the Willow Oaks Administrative Center in the lobby. Please ask about the books at the reception desk from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday-Friday.
