Silver Spring Teens Missing, Last Seen Saturday Afternoon

SILVER SPRING, MD — Two 17-year-olds from Silver Spring was reported missing after they were last seen Saturday afternoon. Amel Abdurezak left her Treetop Lane apartment around noon on Saturday, Montgomery County Police said. Sophia Hunter was last seen on the 1900 block of Grey Castle Way in Silver Spring the same day. Sophia is 5-foot-8 and has brown eyes and burgundy hair, and a nose ring and a keloid scar on her nose police said. She was wearing a white jacket and white sweat pants when she was last seen. Amel is 5-foot-2, has brown eyes, black hair and a nose ring. She wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and black Crocs when she was last seen, according to police. Authorities are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to call Montgomery County Police SVID at (240) 773- 5400 or the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000.
