BELLINGHAM, MA — A 61-year-old man was found dead in a river in southern Maine on Saturday, according to multiple reports.
On Saturday morning, Maine Marine Patrol responded to the Webhannet River near Wells on a report of a sailboat drifting in the water. A few hours later, police found Robert Rasche under a bridge near Wells Harbor, according to WMTW.
Police did not immediately provide a cause of death, and did not say whether Rasche's death was considered suspicious.
Rasche was an artist who painted clipper ships and ocean scenes, according to his website. He was originally from Beverly.
