MILFORD, CT — A man was recently arrested twice for shoplifting from two Milford businesses located on property he has been banned from, Milford police said. On Friday, Jan. 28 at around 4:51 p.m., Milford police responded to a report of a detained shoplifter at Boscov's (1201 Boston Post Road). After an investigation, they arrested Tiny Scott, 44, of New Haven on charges of first-degree criminal trespassing, fifth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer. Scott is accused of stealing over $700 worth of merchandise, and police said they had previously warned him he was not allowed to be on Boscov's property. "Scott also ran away from police while conducting investigation," Milford police wrote in a report of his arrest. He was released on a promise to appear in court with a date scheduled for Feb. 22, and two days later was arrested for shoplifting again — this time, at Target (1191 Boston Post Road). On Jan. 30 at around 5:52 p.m., police responded to a report of shoplifting at the store, and after an investigation they charged Scott with first-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree failure to appear and sixth-degree larceny. Scott is accused of stealing over $200 in merchandise from the Target, and police said he had previously been warned that he was not allowed to be on that property either. During his arrest at Target, officers determined Scott had an active warrant for his arrest from a previous incident in New Haven, police said. Scott's bond for the second arrest was set at $10,500, and he was scheduled to appear in court today.
