WALL, NJ — A Toms River woman was killed and two people were injured Friday in a five-vehicle crash on the Garden State Parkway in Wall Township, New Jersey State Police said Monday. Kathy Suchodolski, 58, suffered fatal injuries in the crash that happened shortly after noon Friday near milepost 96.8 on the southbound side of the Parkway, Trooper Brandi Slota said. Heather M. Locke, 36, of Brick, and Vincent G. McMaster, 30, of Howell, suffered moderate injuries in the crash, Slota said. She said information on where they were taken for treatment or their conditions was not immediately available Monday. The preliminary investigation into the crash determined Suchodolski was driving a GMC SUV and hit the rear of a Hyundai passenger car being driven by Locke, Slota said. The GMC was then hit by a Ford transit van driven by McMaster, she said. From there, the GMC collided with a Kia SUV, and the Kia collided with a Jeep SUV. There were no serious injuries to the drivers of the Kia or the Jeep. Slota said the crash investigation is continuing. The crash limited traffic to getting by on the shoulder and backed up traffic for more than three hours.
