Years of declining ridership and a staffing crisis have routinely left buses and trains without operators, but it was the pandemic that broadsided the Regional Transportation District. (7News)Homelessness in Colorado in comparison to other states. An estimated 9,846 people are experiencing homelessness in Colorado. That's about 17.1 for every 10,000 people, the tenth highest homeless rate in the US. (24/7 Wall Street) Police union blames rising crime on public attitudes. Denver police union VP says that part of the problem is the anti-police rhetoric and the social justice movement – which has been demanding that the city defund police. (FOX31)Hermitage Bookshop for sale, as owner plans to retire. One of Denver's oldest independent bookstores is starting a new chapter. Owner Bob Topp is seeking a buyer for his 50 year-old book shop. Many of the Broomfield-based company's resorts have been struggling to keep lifts running amid staffing problems blamed on the COVID-19 pandemic.
