Here are the top three stories today in New Orleans: On top of the recent crime wave, NOPD is experiencing officer shortages as many policemen leave their positions. Mayor Cantrell allotted $1 million to help update NOPD's recruitment campaign. (WGNO) Starting today, the vaccine mandate that requires New Orleans children to be fully vaccinated in order to attend school or enter public places is in effect. (WDSU New Orleans) New Orleans is reportedly a hotbed for human trafficking. Large events like Mardi Gras make it a popular target but the governor has created a special task force to help combat the crimes.
