Here are the top stories today in Des Moines: Siblings Jasmin Bautista, 20, and Jonathan Bautista, 18, have been charged with the killing of Des Moines resident Javier Wilson-Moncada, 43. Police found Wilson-Moncada on the ground and unresponsive with a gunshot wound near the south bank of the Des Moines River on Aug. 30, 2021. Police are also still looking for another man who may have critical information. (WHO TV 13 Des Moines News & Weather) Aging Resources of Central Iowa and Big Al's BBQ in Adel are helping older adults to socialize and improve their nutrition in what is called the Iowa Café. The Iowa Café offers one meal each day that may be eaten in the restaurant or carried out. To participate, you must be at least 60 years old or the spouse of someone age-eligible. The Iowa Café is meant to provide variety for older adults who are fully vaccinated but have not been able to visit senior centers and other social settings as they have in the past. While the Des Moines Menace already represents the Metro, the Iowa Soccer Association has said that there is more than enough room for two soccer teams.
