PAWTUCKET, RI — A Cumberland man died after a weekend shooting in Pawtucket, police said. Jovani L. Velez, 28, died Sunday night. The shooting happened around 7:45 p.m. on Carnation Street. Emergency responders found Velez in the street with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No further information was provided about the shooting.
