Description
BELMONT, MA — Belmont residents are now required to wear face coverings while out at local businesses. The Belmont Board of Health voted to implement the emergency order on Monday night. The order makes face coverings mandatory for both customers and employees in essential businesses.
The face coverings should be used in conjunction with social distancing guidelines, according to the order, and only used on people over two-years-old. Business owners will be responsible for ensuring their employees are abiding by the order.
Belmont's new, temporary order does not outline any enforcement but says the order will stay in effect as long as the Belmont Board of Health sees fit or until the state lifts restrictions on essential businesses.
The face coverings can be bought or made at home from bandanas or fabric. The Centers for Disease Control offers some tips and fact about face coverings on its website.
