Aurora Man Forces Woman Into Car Despite Order Of Protection: BPD

BATAVIA, IL — A 23-year-old Aurora man has been arrested Monday after Batavia police say he forced into his car a woman who had an active order of protection against him. Police said Jesus Martinez-Tellez, of the 1200 block of Terrace View Drive in Aurora, also took the woman's cellphone before driving away with her in the car. Kane County Forest Preserve police deputies found the two outside Batavia city limits, according to Batavia officials. Police said they learned the man drove away with the woman after arriving at her Batavia residence to do a welfare check. Martinez-Tellez was charged with unlawful restraint, violation of an order of protection, interference with the reporting of domestic battery, and domestic battery, insulting/provoking contact. The Aurora man is currently awaiting a bond call. Batavia police are asking anyone who witnessed the events or has additional information to contact the investigations division at 630-454-2500.
