Press release from San Diego County Sheriff's Department: 01/30/2022 8:43 PM On January 30, 2022, at approximately 03:04 A.M., Sheriff's deputies responded to the east alley in the 800 block of Georgia Street in Imperial Beach for a report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found a 45-year-old male unresponsive in the alley.  He had obvious traumatic injuries.  Deputies and firefighters conducted lifesaving measures on the man, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Sheriff's Homicide Unit responded and assumed responsibility of the investigation.  The identity of the man is being withheld pending positive identification and notification of next of kin by the Medical Examiner's Office.  The motive is still under investigation.
