CALABASAS, CA — The Calabasas library will open to the public Tuesday after closing for in-person services as a COVID-19 precaution. The library initially closed Jan. 20 and was expected to reopen in February. Librarians worked remotely during this break as COVID-19 cases were spiking in Los Angeles County, the city said. The library will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and closed on Monday. Proof of vaccination or a negative test from within 72 hours of entry is required to enter the library. The library still requires masks to be worn indoors. The county's ongoing spike of COVID-19 has shown signs of slowing down, with positivity, case and hospitalization rates declining. The death toll from this spike continues to add up, according to the Los Angeles County public health department. The city of Calabasas had 3,606 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday, an increase of 201 from just a week before, according to Los Angeles County public health data.
