Homestead Roofing In-house Service Technician The perfect candidate will have a wide range of responsibilities including roofing maintenance, repair, quality control, customer service and some sales skills. The successful candidate must be outgoing, positive, an excellent communicator, cheerful, and able to interact with homeowners about their roofing needs and the recommended solutions. This position is not part of our re-roof crew, but will work directly with homeowners and perform necessary repairs on the roofs. Job Responsibilities and Duties • Perform small replacements of roof-covering materials, typically less than 100Sf, to include: o All types of asphalt shingles o Decra metal o Concrete tile o Composite o Flat roof • Perform replacement or repair of roof accessories to include: o Pipe jacks o Box vents o Ridge shingles o Flashing o Skylights o Any other roof components that may need repair or replacement • Perform roof inspections to determine cause of standard roof problems such as leaks, loose or missing shingles, etc. • Evaluate and perform necessary repairs as needed, utilizing the appropriate tools and materials (e.g. hammer/nails, pry bars, sealants, Gaco patch, etc.) • Perform roof inspections for possible storm damage • Oversee roofing crews during projects and provide installation instructions to meet company requirements • Pick up and deliver materials during projects as necessary • Perform work quality inspections after roofing projects • Assist roofing crew as needed • Gutter cleaning at residences as needed. Necessary skills • Aptitude in roofing in all standard residential roofing materials • Aptitude in repairs and replacements of all residential roofing accessory materials • Proficient in computer technology and terminology • Proficient in smartphone apps • Ability to carry 75 pounds unassisted • Proficiency in ladder safety and safe practices on high and steep roofs • Ability to speak Spanish is helpful but not required • Ability to safely inspect and work in attics • Proficiency in customer service and sales • Valid Colorado drivers license with no points against it
