****URGENT URGENT, I'm Dixie (shelter ID number #A4681559) READ ENTIRE POST******* I am set to be put down 2/1, 8 am. Why am I E-listed? Simply put, I am STRESSED from living in a shelter with all the noise and chaos. It's just not humane to keep me here in this condition. Dixie was seen being antagonized by her former owner while she was in a crate at intake so it's understandable that she is miserable being locked up in a kennel. I'm a 2-year-old, female, white and gray Staffordshire Terrier (69 lbs.). My owner surrendered me because he was moving. He told the shelter that I was friendly with people sometimes need a little time to warm up. He also said that I lived with a 10-year-old boy, a dog and 2 cats. No problems were reported. I was terrified, confused, and overwhelmed when I arrived at the shelter in a crate. Within 2 days, I was 'falling apart,' biting and pulling at the kennel gate to the point my gums were bleeding. When I'm comfortable I will come when called, seek affection, lean into petting, and play with toys. I pull hard on leash, but a harness modification to the leash helps me. I have been easy to take from my kennel and easy to return. I just need to be out of the shelter ASAP and into a home. I am hoping someone will come for me! Can you save my life?
