Position Overview Here at Dr. Praeger’s the maintenance team is the back bone of operations ensuring equipment runs optimally while taking care of facility as well. Maintenance Technician is the “Jack of All Trades” maintaining equipment mechanically, electrically and at times improving the process. Creativity and ingenuity is one of the key elements for success and we are looking for the right candidate with the skill sets and attitude to help us get to the next level. Essential Job Functions • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools and other equipment. • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt. • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests. • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting equipment down time, root cause and repair. • Maintains continuity among work teams by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. • Maintains SAFE and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Qualifications/requirements • Min 3 year’s experience • Technical or University degree or on-the-job experience • Knowledge of the following equipment is a plus o Packaging machines o Carton formers o Case erectors o Baggers & Scales o Freezer o Blast Freezer o Wire Belts, Conveyors o Food processing equipment Fryers, Patty Presses, Shakers, Breaders, etc • Able to trouble shoot PLC systems • Electrically & Mechanically inclined • Strong Sense Of Safety & Urgency Food safety and quality responsibilities • Ensure proper functioning of equipment necessary to support proper identification, control, monitoring, and documentation of Critical Control Point • Ensure quality and safety specifications are met • Demonstrate food safety and quality, SSOP and GMP policies and procedures • GMP Environment, SQF Certified 2 positions available 1st and 2nd shift
