Description

An opportunity to hear and talk about experiences with the various options for sustainable period products (cup, disc, underwear, etc.). Let's talk about sustainable periods! Periods. We get them every month and boy, can there be a lot of waste associated with them! There's lots of options now that not only help reduce the environmental impact of your monthly visitor, but are also more affordable and make the overall experience more comfortable. And that's their priority - your comfort and ability to go about your daily life! Hard to believe, amiright? However, trying out all the different options to see which one works best can get expensive, and some are complicated and confusing, and who's got time to pore over all the different blog posts trying to find an unbiased one that resonates with you?! So let's get together and chat about it. Maybe you've got questions about a specific product you've been wanting to try out. Maybe you've already made the switch and are so pumped about your new life that you want to tell everyone and spread the joy. Maybe you've never considered or heard of anything other than the disposable products you've always used. Maybe you would never in a gazillion years talk to anyone about something as intimate as your period. Our reasons for talking about it are as varied as all our needs when it comes to that time of the month. Bottom line is we should all get together and chat about it; comfortably, openly, and preferably with a refreshing and healing beverage in hand. Dr. Anne Bingham of nearby Crescent Street OB/GYN will be joining us and able to clarify any anatomical confusion or dispel clinical myths. LaTia Holley of Fruitful Ascension Wellness will be serving up some of her luscious teas. We will have examples of the various products on hand (cups, discs, underwear, reusable pads) and available for sale. Show up and get comfy at 5:30 PM, the chat will begin around 6 PM. Don't get your period but want to be supportive and informed? We so appreciate you as an ally, but we're going to ask you to sit this one out as we focus on creating a comfortable and safe space for our attendees. Reboot Eco makes environmentally conscious living more convenient and accessible, with refill stations and zero waste shops for household and lifestyle needs, and community and educational programming.
