EMPOWERMENT, MOMENTUM, CHANGE! #LiveLikeLacie Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM), is heart disease during or shortly after pregnancy. It is an under diagnosed condition that occurs at a rate higher than Down Syndrome. After being diagnosed with PPCM, Lacie's mission was to eradicate this disease so others and their families would not have to suffer. As the Alabama representative for Save the Mommies, Lacie rallied many in the fight against PPCM. Her heart for others was strong! After losing her in January 2021, her torch has been picked up by her family and friends and the push continues. Last year with broken hearts, the 1st Annual Miles for Mommies: Lacie Cole Ring Memorial Walk was held on Mother's Day weekend. With an amazing turnout all across the country, we were able to raise nearly $15,000! A large portion of this money went directly towards PPCM research that Save the Mommies has identified as an aid in early diagnosis. Early diagnosis is the first step in saving lives! This year with strengthened hearts and momentum, we know that this walk is going to fan the flames of change even greater! Lacie's goal is achievable with the close partnership that Save the Mommies has made with PPCM Research Initiative. We are putting feet to the road and making things happen. That's how we #LiveLikeLacie! Save The Mommies along with family & friends of Lacie Ring are committed to saving women from pregnancy related heart failure known as Peripartum Cardiomyopathy (PPCM). Lacie was the Alabama Representative for Save The Mommies. This event is being held in memory of Lacie who lost her battle with this condition. Her dream was to save women from being effected by PPCM and make safer maternal health practices effective in Alabama, were she lived with her husband Dan and their daughter Ruby. Lacie's family, friends and colleagues are dedicated to see her legacy fulfilled.
