Description
ARLINGTON, MA — The project to replace sidewalk surfaces in the town center took its first steps Monday. Crews began mobilization and prep work, which will include installing signs, fencing off material storage areas and working on the street to saw cut pavement.
Construction will begin in earnest the week of July 6. Work will take place along Massachusetts Avenue and Broadway, between Pleasant Street and Franklin Street.
The contract has been awarded to D'Allessandro Corp. Brick walks will be replaced with ADA-compliant surfaces, and ADA-compliant crosswalks and ramps will be built in the center.
The project will start around 297 Broadway. It is expected to take about 10 weeks.
