ARLINGTON, MA — The project to replace sidewalk surfaces in the center of Arlington wrapped up Friday. Work included replacing brick walks with surfaces that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and building crosswalks and ramps that are accessible for people with disabilities.
Construction took place between Pleasant Street and Franklin Street along Massachusetts Avenue and Broadway. All main project areas are completed, except for some paving patches, minor landscaping, crosswalk signal adjustments and other items, town officials said.
The project began July 6 and was completed by D'Allessandro Corp.
"The Town would like to thank residents, businesses, and visitors to the area for their patience as made these important updates," officials said in a statement.
