FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth Public Schools will be closed Monday, following the weekend blizzard hitting the region.
"Due to road conditions, power outages, and additional time needed for cleanup, Falmouth Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 31st," school officials said in a statement. "All before and after school activities, including the YMCA are also canceled. Please stay safe."
The storm saw nearly two feet of snow hit Cape Cod, and left tens of thousands of people without power. As of 2:15 p.m., Sunday, 38,552 Eversource customers in Barnstable County remained in the dark.
Nearly 5,500 of those customers were from Falmouth, meaning 21 percent of the town is still without power.
