LOS ANGELES, CA '— Firefighters Sunday knocked down a fire that began in a bathroom on the second floor of a senior living facility in the Westlake district, then crept into a wall and up a pipe to the third floor of the four- story structure. "All floors were cleared of smoke and residents were sheltered in place," said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Firefighters dispatched at 9:25 a.m. to 2451 W. 7th St., near MacArthur Park, had the fire out at 9:52 a.m., Stewart said. "Crews extinguished the fire and opened up sections of the wall, as necessary, to ensure no further extension or continued smoldering," Stewart said. ``No injuries were reported." A cause of the fire was under investigation. —City News Service
