The merchandiser will act, as a field representative for The Cottage Gardens Inc. Purpose of this position is to create and maintain great looking plant displays at our customer’s location. This job requires the merchandiser to perform physical tasks as well as maintain communication with store associates, garden supervisors/managers and Cottage Gardens. We assist our retail partners in maximizing their sales of plants & shrubs by focusing on improving Garden Center merchandising, signing, proper plant care and watering. It's a great job, that is flexible and works well as part-time work alongside school, your current job or retirees. Merchandisers are expected to work a Minimum of 10 hrs./week - Maximum 32 hrs./wk (3 of which must be completed on the weekend) during peak season (April thru Mid-June). Required Skills: Responsibilities include the following essential functions-other duties may be assigned. -Merchandisers would be responsible for unloading and maintaining all products from The Cottage Gardens and other vendors as needed. -Assists with the building of Garden Center benches and parking lot corrals. -Create and replenish sign displays with Home Depot approved signing. -Building special event displays and proper signing/executing promotions and special event pricing. -Routine care of plant material (deadheading, pruning, watering, etc.) -Maintaining all displays by condensing and culling product. -Reliable transportation is required. -Must have cell phone. -Must have or have access to a computer.
