Description
Our theater and improv training center - Change Through Play Studio - is thrilled to welcome Nicholas Kessler, a well-known and highly-experienced PDX improviser, to our teaching roster for the upcoming 2022 season.
• Join Nicholas for our performance track (intermediate) classes on TUESDAY nights from 7-9pm. Here, you'll learn about scene and character work, edits, and the start of long-form sequences and storytelling.
• David Koff, our founder, will continue to teach an intro class on WEDNESDAY afternoons (online!) that's perfect for afterschool arts programming.
• David will also continue teaching an advanced workshop on THURSDAY nights. The advanced class will focus on developing new long-form sequences (we're studying the hero's journey, currently) and how to bring a theatrical sensibility to your improv to create both laughter and deep focus from the audience.
If you like or are interested in long-form improvisation that's deeply anchored in the organic skills of the theater, then we invite you to join us as we joyously explore our favorite art form.
NOT SURE? AUDIT A CLASS FOR FREE AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF IF WE'RE A MATCH FOR YOU!
As usual, we’ve set aside reduced-rate or scholarship rate pricing for those individuals in the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and Starving Artist communities, so please drop us a PM to learn more!
Classes start the first week of February and registration is open now!
