OP/ The biggest problem with our voting system is the electoral college. The EC leaves room for error and opportunity for election manipulation. We have the technology now to have every person cast a direct vote securely. Why not take advantage of this? Let me revise that question. Why would political leaders from BOTH sides prefer that we do not have a direct vote system? The republicans are not the enemy. The democrats are not the enemy. Politicians are the enemy. Politicians are the problem ======================================================================================= Cuz we are not a Democracy. We are a Republic. If we were a majority rules then three states would decide the winner. The EC is there to protect the little guy. So that the minority states would be represented as much as the large ones. That is why they all have two senators no matter the population. The dems know this and this is why they want to change it. Their whole voting rights bill and killing the fillibuster are designed to make it easy for them to cheat and to count all of the votes of all the illegals that they are letting over the boarder. See how that works? There are laws in place to protect the election process and they want to tear them down. Ask yourself why?
