Argentine tegu’s are the most mild mannered monitor lizards. Being puppy dog tame if they’re raised around humans and handled occasionally. Tegus are omnivores. Eating fruits and vegetables as well as insects and meat. I mainly feed my little guy beef with vitamins and calcium powder as well as worms and roaches. I’ve tried to feed him leafy greens low in oxilates and various fruits but has shown little interest yet. Tegus can get up to 11 lbs and 3 ft long. In adulthood they need an enclosure that is 6ft long 3ft wide 3ft tall. Very intelligent and fulfilling reptile for the right owner. Teggy the tegu is 1 year old now. I love my little pet dinosaur but tegu will need a larger enclosure or at very least needs more out of cage time that I can’t give him. Call or txt for any questions.
