Description

I'm a veteran, skilled drummer, 52- who has been actively playing, recording, and gigging since I was 14. I am extremely picky when it comes to who I'll rehearse with- as I'm not into commercial or played-to-death "hits"...I'm more of a deep-track album guy. Will not play crap- regardless of the paycheck. I value my musical integrity, unlike alot of folks. I have a wide range of influences and styles of music I like- basically everything but country, rap, and pop. These are a few of the genres/ bands/ performers I dig- Heavy progressive 70's music (ELP, Deep Purple, Rush, UFO, Angel, Uriah Heep, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Rainbow, Billy Cobham, Alphonse Mouzon, Yes, Journey, Electric Light Orchestra, Genesis.) 70's hard rock and metal (Sabbath, Zeppelin, The Who, Queen, Judas Priest, Aerosmith, Van Halen, AC/DC, Scorpions, Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Sweet, Motorhead, Tommy Bolin, James Gang, Bad Company, Mott The Hoople, Kiss, Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick, the Tubes, Budgie, Montrose, Grand Funk Railroad.) Doom/Stoner rock (Clutch, Kyuss, the Melvins, QOTSA, Electric Wizard, Sleep, High On Fire, Monster Magnet.) 90s grunge and Power-metal (Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Faith No More, Type O Negative, Down) Southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, Black Oak, etc...) I'm also into jazz fusion, funk/soul, glam rock, and anything that has an infectious guitar in it. I'd like to find an ace guitarist AND a solid bass player to get things rolling, as vocalists are sometimes hard to find- especially up here! A keyboard player may be in the cards as well. Please be over 40 (or close- for the sake of musical compatibility). If you're into the bands/styles I have listed above, kindly reply with some info about yourself (how long you've been playing, your gear/ equipment, types of music you're into) and leave a number so we can chat and see if there's any common ground. I don't wish to waste my time or yours, so only reply if you've got some experience and the drive to make this happen. No hobbyists or novice players needed. Attitude is also a big factor, so leave the egos at the door. Be in control of your own schedule. No time for drama or flakes... serious inquiries only. I play a large Pearl kit with Meinl cymbals exclusively. Please have professional gear, transportation, and a will to make this work. I'm hoping to start jamming soon and see if we can make a solid band out of this. Gigs will happen when the band is TIGHT. I'm certainly not doing this for the money. I play what I like, not what the bar crowd wants to hear. Commercial music is at an all-time low. Going back in time (70's-80s) is the only way to hear truly GREAT bands. If you agree with me, send a reply and I'll be in touch.
