Considering a move to Mesa area have questions

I am a weekend warrior guitarist/singer and I am curious what the live gigging scene is like in the area. Classic hard rock and tribute stuff is what I do mostly. Not a country or dance player at all. I am in my 50's with good gear and lots of experience. Are there gigs to be had regularly? What is the typical pay for a typical 4 piece rock cover band? How is the culture in general? For instance it was very back stabby in Boston where I did most of my playing for 20 years. Are there any safe and affordable rehearsal spaces? I would be staying in a hotel temporarily. Need a jam room. How hard is it to find other players into the type of stuff I mentioned? I am considering a day gig offer out this way. Just trying to find out as much as I can about the Mesa AZ area when it comes to the musician culture. I love to play live on weekends in a full band context. Thanks for any info.
