Doctor Calls Response To Second COVID Surge In MA 'Wholly Inadequate'

BOSTON — It's been an uphill battle as the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reports more than 4,700 new coronavirus cases Sunday. The daily trends are alarming to Dr. Ashish Jha, the Dean of Brown University's School of Public Health. "Part of the reason I'm speaking up is I want to act earlier so we don't get to the point where we have to shut the whole state down," said Jha. He is urging Gov. Charlie Baker and state health officials to take action against the rising number of COVID-19 cases. The second surge is only expected to get worse as we approach Christmas time.
