This very handsome, 2-3 year old male Pit Bull is in desperate need of a loving/lifelong home to grow old in and to continuously delight with his charming characteristics and funny antics. This guy was a rescue, and has been through quite a bit and bounced around far too many times already in his young life, though he continues to smile and brave the unknown and bring smiles to everyone that meets him! We took him in as his last option before former owners surrendered him to the local dog pound, and unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances have no choice but to rehome him. This dog is absolutely amazing, and with the right home and owner, he will be a joyful, hilarious and loving protector for the rest of his life. He is more on the active side, loves to go for walks, runs, car rides, plays fetch like a pro, enjoys playing with tuggy ropes and loves treats and dog bones. He minds well, knows some basic commands such as sit, stay, come, lay down and shake, and is very eager and willing to learn (especially for treats!). His favorite place is on the couch or bed, and he lives to snuggle. Now, for his quirks. He does unfortunately, suffer from separation anxiety, due to becoming attached to someone and being abandoned on numerous occasions. He wants to be by your side, literally all the time. He can and will figure out a way to escape a cheap dog crate if left in one for more than an hour or so, so would need a heavy duty crate or dog kennel if he must be left alone, or with some work on manners when left alone, would be okay roaming free in the home. He does appear to like to test his boundaries, and will attempt to counter surf, trash surf, etc if he is not corrected. He has also on occasion been known to "hike his leg" on things, which could be fixed with neutering I would imagine as that has not yet been done. He DOES NOT get along with other male dogs because of this, so unfortunately, I WILL NOT rehome him to a place with another male dog. He is very pesty toward female dogs, and has been observed to irritate some female dogs that have problems with another pooch wanting their undivided attention. He would honestly benefit from being an only dog, but would be fine with certain female dogs. He will also chase cats and other small critters and annoy them, he is really a pester to other animals lol, but will adjust after being given a few days to warm up to them. All in all this is a great dog, he's super loving, very forgiving, and just wants to be your best friend. He would potentially benefit from some obedience training, agility, hiking, running or really having any job to do as he is exceptionally quick to learn routines and adjust his behavior accordingly. Please only serious inquiries from people who intend to give the dog a permanent home as a lifelong member of a family because he does truly deserve it. There will be a small adoption fee of $100 to help ensure a good home and to hopefully deter flippers, dog fighters, etc. If you are looking for an exceptionally smart, well mannered and loyal companion to your at least semi active lifestyle, then please don't look any further than this pretty boy!
