The Amarillo Worship Team Masterclass is for worship leaders and teams who need encouragement and training. ABOUT WORSHIP TEAM MASTERCLASS Worship Team Masterclass is all about bringing tools to the churches in Amarillo that desire to grow in their musical and spiritual gifts. We love and appreciate what successful worship movements offer, but this is not a star-studded event that promotes one particular church movement or artist, rather we are here to learn from each other and those actually doing the weekly work of local church worship. Do your worship team members need courage? Have you lost your passion to lead and grow as a creative in the Church? Could you use some tools for better singing and better sound? Do you struggle with the balance of confidence and performance? Worship Team Masterclass will bless you and your team. This is for all ages and skill levels. SCHEDULEFRIDAY 7PM (Optional ADD-ON) SONGWRITING FOR THE LOCAL CHURCH In this evening workshop, we will discuss the Biblical mandate to exist as co-creators with God. Songwriting is one of the best ways to engage creatives and develop indigenous expressions within our local church. You will learn the basics of congregational writing and have a chance to share your song. This is a fun and inspiring class! SATURDAY 9AMSHAME, PRAISE, FEAR, AND FORMATION In this inspirational class, Mike will lay out the Biblical purpose of congregational worship. We will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of our current contexts and how we can continue to remove obstacles to an edifying service. Bass players, sound techs, singers, and pastors all play a role. $200 VOICE LESSON We all have a voice, even if you are not a “singer”! In this session, we will learn the fundamentals of caring for and preserving your singing voice for a lifetime. Learn everything the pros learn in their first “real” voice lesson. MAKING THE BAND Music is more than just playing the right chords and beats. It’s more than just copying the recording or utilizing “tracks" to make it sound better than it actually does. Making the Band is a high-energy class to help you reimagine and find the joy of producing music together as a worship team. In real-time, using real instruments Mike will break down a recording and build it back up, but for a smaller church context with volunteer musicians. Come ready to explore each instrument's role including specific vocal work. Everyone in your worship team will benefit from this class! THE ART + ACT OF WORSHIP LEADING WORSHIP This worship leader master class is an opportunity for you to lead worship (vocally only or with an instrument) without a full band. Mike will call on volunteers to lead the class into a song of worship. You will stand on stage and pretend like it’s the church! We will worship with you. When you are done we will encourage you and tell you all the areas we appreciated about your leadership. Mike will offer some constructive feedback on what you can do better. This is a powerful class that will leave you encouraged and equipped. SOUND TRAINING Have you ever wondered what all those knobs do on the soundboard? Have you achieved good sound, but want GREAT SOUND? This class is for new AND experienced sound techs. If you’ve always wanted to know how to make your voice or instrument sound better, this class is for you! A sound tech’s ability to understand and refine the signal path of each individual instrument will provide the foundation for an excellent mix. There is no amount of sound reinforcement that will overcome poor musicianship or musical chemistry, but a sound tech with the kind command of the stage signal flow will ultimately be able to better serve the band and congregation. WORSHIP CIRCLE (with Worship Collective) All are welcome to bring their instrument and their voices to join. We will pass out chord charts and we will all participate acoustically as we circle around the communion elements. Don’t worry, these will be simple songs and arrangements. All you need if your voice and instrument - come join the worship circle! There are several groups involved in Worship MasterClass. The event is being organized and instructed by Three Streams Worship Training. Our sponsors are: Worshipteam.com, Faith Covenant Church (Borger), Worship Collective (Amarillo), and hosted by Crossroads Church in Amarillo. Who should attend Worship MasterClass? We welcome anyone looking to grow in their musical and spiritual gifts. Senior pastors, worship leaders, singers, instrumentalists and tech team members are all encouraged to attend this event. If you are doing the work weekly worship in the local church this is for you. No matter your role on your worship team, you will be invested in at this event. Can Kids/Teens attend Worship MasterClass? Yes. We welcome ALL AGES (those under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult). Parents/Leaders are welcome to be in the building and do work in the lobby or fellowship area if they do not want to attend the event. Should I bring any gear for the worship circle? SURE! A guitar, bass, cajon, violin… whatever you want really! Everyone is welcome to participate and join us for the Worship Circle hosted by the Worship Collective. We will provide chord charts at the event. Are scholarships available? YES! We are offering partial and complete scholarships for those in need. We're following the lead of our host church, Crossroads Church , and plan to operate the Worship MasterClass just like their weekly in-person church services for safety and sanitation.
