Warming Shelter Open For Plymouth Residents Through Nor'Easter

PLYMOUTH, MA — A warming shelter has been opened in Plymouth after more than 11,000 residents are without power due to side effects from the vicious nor'easter battering the South Shore Saturday morning. If you've lost electricity or heat, you can seek shelter at Plymouth North High School. The town opened the warming shelter at the school at 6 a.m. If you can't get to the shelter, the Plymouth Fire Department can take you there, or the Plymouth police by calling 508-746-1212. Plymouth Police Chief Dana Flynn is encouraging people to stay home and off the roads, but if they must go out, he is urging them to turn around if they encounter a road that is closed. Flooding, high winds, and a hefty amount of snow continue to hammer Plymouth and coastal towns along the South Shore. The snow is expected to ease up by early evening, with most having fallen by 6 p.m. A blizzard warning is in effect through midnight.
