Press release from the Town of Needham: January 28, 2022 Important Winter Blizzard Information The Town of Needham is urging residents to be prepared for tomorrow's blizzard.  The storm is expected to deliver up to 2 feet of snow or more and will contain whiteout conditions, high winds with the potential for power outages.  Like many surrounding communities, Needham is short staffed this year and down many snow contractors. We are asking for everyone's patience and understanding as it will take longer than in years past to clear roads. Sidewalks may not be cleared and residents and businesses are asked to help clear the sidewalks and fire hydrants.   We are asking residents to do the following:  Please stay off  the roads during the storm and do not park on main roads or side streets. Please clear sidewalks and around fire hydrants.  Windrows will be created by plow trucks. There really is no way to avoid it. Please be patient and kind to the drivers and prepare to shovel at the end of your driveway.  Please do not throw snow in the roads or on sidewalks when shoveling. Doing so is a violation of the Town's bylaws and you will be subject to a fine. Closures/Cancellations: The RTS is CLOSED Saturday The Needham Free Public Library is CLOSED Saturday. A decision about the Library opening on Sunday will be made on Saturday. Please check the Library's website for updates.  Needham Park and Recreation programs for Saturday are CANCELED Emergency Contact Information: Report any significant issues with Public Works via SeeClickFix Report a power outage to Eversource Needham Police Department - 781-455-7570 Needham Fire Department -  781-455-7580 Visit DPW's Snow and Ice web page for more information.  Please stay safe!   This press release was produced by the Town of Needham.
