FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth's coronavirus surge is showing signs of slowing down, though numbers are still much higher than the state average, according to the latest municipal-level data released by the Department of Public Health Thursday. The positive test rate in Falmouth decreased from 19.65 to 15.8 percent. As of Thursday, the state positive test rate was 9.48 percent. The town had 420 cases in the last two weeks, or 96.2 daily cases per 100,000 residents. Both the positive rate and the case total decreased from last week's report. The state also reported that Falmouth has 80 percent of its residents fully vaccinated, up slightly from the previous week, but the real difference came with how many more residents got the booster. More than 46 percent of Falmouth residents have gotten the booster, more than a 1 percent increase from the previous week.
