Description

HAMDEN, CT — A parking ban will be in effect in Hamden, beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, until further notice, Mayor Lauren Garrett and Acting Public Works Director Matthew Kott announced. The parking ban prohibits any person to park, or allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any odd numbered portion of a town street or highway. The ban further prohibits any person to allow or permit a vehicle to stand or park on any Town street or highway in such a manner as to constitute a hazard or obstruction to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. The Hamden Police Department is authorized, pursuant to Section 71.07 of the Code of the Town of Hamden, to remove any vehicle parked in violation of this ordinance. Such removal shall be at the risk and expense of the owner of the vehicle. Hamden Public Library will be closed Saturday, Jan. 29. Their digital branch and virtual reference will still be available, according to officials. "Please stay off of the roads if possible to allow for cleanup and emergency vehicles," officials wrote in a news release.
