Registration is open for Darien Arts Center summer camps and classes for all ages in dance, visual arts and martial arts. Summer offerings begin in June. To register, visit darienarts.org or call (203) 655-8683. The DAC is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Town Hall. Art! Dance! Music! Camp Choose from one or all four sessions of this fun camp that incorporates art, dance and music for kids from pre-school through 1st grade. Multi-session discount available. Monday-Thursday, 10am-12:45pm. Session 1: 6/6-6/9 Session 2: 6/13-6/16 Session 3: 6/20-6/23 Session 4: 6/27-6/30 Cartooning Camp Students create and illustrate their own comic strip, complete with their own text and characters, focusing on facial expressions, body language and the use of color. For Grades 1-4. Monday-Friday, 9:30-11:30am, 7/18-7/22 Print Making Camp Come get creative with print making! In this 4 day camp, join artist Nancy McTague-Stock as she guides students through the art of printmaking. At the end of the last session, the students will have completed projects to take home. For Grades 5-8. Monday-Thursday, 3-5pm, 7/18-7/21 The Iconic Lettering Scripts of Harry Potter Camp Come join us in the Darien Arts Center's Chamber of Scribes! Learn the iconic lettering styles of Albus Dumbledore and Headmistress McGonagall using a cartridge fountain pen. Applying these new skills, each child will choose, design, and create one Harry Potter-themed project over the 5-day camp session. For Grades 5-8. Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm, 7/11-7/15 Summer Dance Classes Choose from fun summer classes for all levels, ages 3 & up, beginning in June. Summer Martial Arts Classes Classes are designed to hone fine motor skills and improve focus and self-discipline, while learning self-defense and having fun.
