Press release from Columbia Association: January 28, 2022 Ready to return to your pre-baby fitness levels? According to CA personal trainer and group fitness instructor, Tahis Blue, it's natural to want to jump right back in to your old workout routine. However, as a pre- and post-natal fitness specialist, she also knows that women tend to underestimate the trauma their bodies go through delivering a baby. Blue is passionate about teaching moms ways to ease back into exercise safely, with an emphasis on building core strength and connecting to the breath. Her upcoming two-series Postnatal Fitness workshop will focus on exercises and movements to support moms for life. Anyone who has been cleared by a doctor for exercise can benefit, whether your child is six months old or six years old. These sessions will take place at Columbia Athletic Club (Studio 2) on Saturday, February 19th and Saturday, February 26th (12-1:30pm). Importance of the core & breath The two-series Postnatal Fitness workshop will emphasize: How to strengthen your core and pelvic floor after pregnancy and childbirth The power breathing has on postpartum recovery and overall strength Tips for returning to fitness classes and training Blue will share tips for connecting to your breath and core — which not only enhances your strength and power, but helps with stress management and keeping calm when things feel out of control.
