Enjoy the Derby the Hilltop Lakes way - You don't have to drive (or fly) to Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY, to celebrate the 147th Kentucky Derby in style. Closer to home, join Hilltop Lakes Equestrian Association (HLEA) in celebrating what's called “the most exciting two minutes in sports”. HLEA is hosting our second annual Kentucky Derby Gala. The event is open to the public, but advance purchase tickets are required. Enjoy Southern Fare inspired foods, sip mint juleps, wear fancy hats, enjoy lawn games, and cheer for favorite horse. It’s a safe bet to say that you won’t want to miss out on our gala on race day! The HLEA Derby Day Gala will be a gorgeous garden party held at the Hilltop Lakes Community Center and in a stylish white tent gracing the back lawn overlooking Mirror Lake. The outdoors will be transformed into a beautiful garden party to set the stage for a fun day at the races. Under the tent you’ll find festivities including Derby inspired décor, wagering booth, photo booth, contests, games, cash bar drink specials, and TV to watch the Kentucky Derby live racing. Beyond the Derby Day events, there will outdoor lawn games including horse shoes, croquet, and corn hole. Inside the community center, you’ll find a delicious Southern Fare food buffet, silent auction, and raffle. It’s the ultimate heart thumping…..hooves stomping….day at the races!
