Press release from the City of Portsmouth: January 28, 2022 The scope of the project includes: Data collection and analysis, including a review of the City's inventory of existing recreational programs and facilities, demographics and national recreational trends, metrics for comparing facilities consistently, and evaluation of recreational facilities of regional significance and in two comparable towns to explore opportunities for regional collaboration and resource sharing; Public workshops (which will include a Visioning Session and a Master Planning Session) and online community surveys, including a city-wide survey of the general public and a survey of coaches and sports league administrators who use the City's athletic facilities. These surveys are designed to determine how the community utilizes existing facilities, what improvements are needed and what is missing; Development of a needs assessment: updating the 2016 assessment to identify facilities needs and improve operational efficiencies; and Final report.
