BOW, NH — A crash near the Bow Junction on Saturday led to charges against two people. New Hampshire State Police were sent to Interstate 89 not far from the Bow Junction with I-93 for a report of a loud bang around 4 a.m. After searching the area, troopers found a car had driven off the I-89 south offramp to I-93 north onramp and crashed. "The vehicle appeared to have been traveling at high speed on I-89 SB when it struck a guardrail and then launched over a chain-link fence before landing on a walking trail and striking some trees which brought it to a stop," Sgt. Daniel Livingstone of Troop D said. Bow police assisted with a search for the vehicle's occupants and reportedly found Steven Longchamp, 27, of Colchester, Vermont, on the ice of the Turkey River behind the Grappone Toyota dealership not far from the accident. "Further investigation revealed that he had been driving the vehicle," Livingstone said. A state police K-9 unit also searched the area and later, located Crystal Wynott, 31, of Hillsborough in a wooded area on the other side of the ramp about a quarter of a mile from the crash. Wynott was the owner of the car, he said. Livingstone accused both Longchamp and Wynott of being under the influence and they were taken into custody. Later, Longchamp was arrested on driving under the influence, possession of a controlled drug, transportation of a controlled drug, conduct after an accident, and operating after suspension-subsequent charges. Wynott was charged with possession of a controlled drug. Along with Bow police, Bow fire and rescue teams assisted state police. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Trooper Derek Myrdek at 603-223-8944 or email at [email protected]. According to a post on Patch from October 2021, Longchamp was arrested on a revocation charge after being accused of driving on Pleasant Street.
