Press release from the City of Cambridge: October 28, 2020 August 26, 2020 marked the 100-year anniversary of the culmination of the women's suffrage movement and the adoption of the Nineteenth Amendment of the US Constitution, which prohibited the denial of the right to vote on the basis of sex and enfranchised many American women. To celebrate the centennial of this significant milestone, the Cambridge Bicycle Committee created a Nineteenth Amendment-themed bike ride that highlights sites and suffragists important to the movement in Cambridge and beyond.
