MINNEAPOLIS – A Minneapolis man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison after sexually abusing a 16-year-old while on a flight from Boston to Minneapolis.
On July 14, a federal jury convicted Neeraj Chopra, 41, on one count of abusive sexual contact after a three-day trial.
During the April 2019 flight, Chopra retrieved a blanket from his backpack and draped it over his lap, with a portion of the blanket also covering the victim's right leg, police said.
Chopra put his hand under the blanket and began inappropriately touching the victim, according to authorities. Chopra ignored the victim's multiple requests to stop and continued, police said.
