DUBLIN, CA — Dublin's population is the 11th fastest-growing in the country, according to a new study from mortgage provider Quicken Loans. Dublin's population grew by 6.05% in 2018, and 50% since 2010, according to Quicken Loans. Its population grew 4.5% in 2021. "A lot of people are relocating out of San Francisco, and they're moving east primarily because housing prices are much less expensive," Katie Fagan, who works for Bay Area business consulting firm FranNet, told Patch. According to Quicken Loan, the median price of a home in Dublin is $908,783, while the median household income is $114,699. That makes it one of the rare Bay Area communities with high incomes and good schools that still has a median home price below $1 million. "There's the school district, and a lot of opportunities to start businesses there, because there's real estate more readily available," Fagan said. "For people that I work with in the Bay Area, what I'm starting to understand is they no longer want to be in San Francisco or San Jose proper - they'd like to be in areas they feel a little bit more comfortable, and there's actually room for a business opportunity for them, even if they stay in corporate America, a lot of my clients are first-time entrepreneurs that want mitigated risk." Fagan said many new businesses moving to Dublin are centered around health, wellness, and children. She also noted the population seems to be getting increasingly younger, as more and more young families from around the Bay Area choose Dublin. Dublin was the only city in California to make the top 20 list. The top city was Buckeye City, Arizona, just west of Phoenix, which had a growth rate of 5%. Texas was the most represented state, with eight cities. San Antonio suburb New Braunfels came in second place.
