Press release from the Guilford County Government: 01/28/2022 On January 21, 2022 the County Officials notified the public of maintenance related closures as a result of an incident occurring on the fourth floor of the Guilford County Courthouse in High Point. Guilford County officials temporarily closed the Guilford County Courthouse in High Point, NC for Monday, January 24 – Friday, January 28, 2022 due to a one-inch pressurized water line rupture. Efforts to remediate the water damage are moving quickly and certain services are scheduled to reopen next week. Officials report that as additional work continues on several floors, services will begin returning in a staged format. Beginning the week of January 31, 2022, The High Point Court House will Operate under the following Schedule: The Guilford County Family Justice Center - not initially impacted by the water damage will continue to operate on a normal schedule. Civil/Domestic Cases – Will operate in High Point Courtroom 3A returning to normal operations Domestic Violence Ex-parte Cases – In Courtroom 3A returning to normal operations Domestic Violence Returns – In Courtroom 3A returning to normal operations First Appearances – Will be held in Courtroom 3D returning to normal operations (at 2:00 pm) Small Claim Cases – Will be heard on Thursday and Friday (Feb. 3 and 4) The High Point Clerk of Court's Office – Will reopen Monday, January 31 returning to normal operations The High Point District Attorney's Office – Will reopen Monday, January 31 returning to normal operations The High Point Magistrates Office - have been temporarily relocated and will be working out of the High Point Police Department located at 1730 Westchester Drive. Will reopen at the courthouse on Tuesday, February 1st Juvenile DHHS/Delinquency Cases – Will be held in Greensboro Courtroom 3G Criminal/Traffic Cases/Waiver Court Cases – Continued to a later date Child Support Cases – Continued to a later date High Point Criminal Superior Cases – Continued to a later date Residents with pending court cases for next week who need to contact the High Point Public Defender's Office are asked to call the Greensboro office instead at (336) 412-7777 This press release was produced by the Guilford County Government.
